The grand theme of our research targets the valorization of (sun)light energy. By working towards using the energy of the most powerful energy resource of this solar system, we aim to improve the impact of our society on our health and environment.
Inspiration
In natural photosynthesis, charges are transferred across the thylakoid membrane to run CO2 reduction and water oxidation in separated compartments.
Strategy
We apply the concept of compartmentalization via biomimetic membranes, light-induced energy and electron transfer for catalytic water splitting.
